Improving the slaughterhouse facilities in the region:

Winrock International-Philippine Cold Chain Project inks Memorandum of Agreement with the Local Government Units of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur, Cagwait and Marihatag in Surigao del Sur, and Buenavista, Agusan del Norte in the implementation of “Improving Meat Establishments For Hygienic Meat Production in Caraga Region. L-R: Cagwait Muicipal Mayor Hon. LilLian Lozada, Marihatag Municipal Mayor Hon. Alan Pelenio, Talacogon Municipal Mayor Jesryl Masendo, National Meat Inspection Service Regional Technical Director Desiderio Julaton, and Winrock- PCCP Deputy Chief of Party Jim L. Orprecio. The project aims to develop LGU Meat Control System that is compliant with national standards, responsive to the needs of meat industry stakeholders, and protection of the health and general welfare of the meat consuming public.

The Cold Chain Association of the Philippines, Inc. (CCAP) is a multi-sectoral grouping of companies and professional organizations involved in the various processes and activities in managing the supply chain for perishable food products.

USDA to build integrated marketing center in Caraga

NASIPIT, Agusan del Norte- Rotten fruits and vegetables from Caraga Region and nearby provinces before it reaches its destination like Manila or Cebu.

The notion of “no available place for processing and storage,” will be thing of the past when the project is completed.
